Hey, I'm Zay Lamone

I write the kind of stories I like to read—unfiltered, unpredictable, and a little bit messy. My debut novel Conundrum is a blend of urban lit, romance, suspense, and real-life vibes that’ll have you side-eyeing your friends and questioning your last situationship.

I’ve always loved character-driven stories—the kind where people are complicated, motives get twisted, and nothing is ever just black and white. I don’t believe in “perfect” characters. I believe in real ones. Flawed, funny, dramatic, vulnerable, reckless, lovable… and sometimes all of that at once.

Conundrum is my first official release under the Zay Lamone name, but storytelling has been my language for years. A lot of what I write is pulled from real conversations, real relationships, and those awkward, intense, or unforgettable moments we all carry around. The names are changed. The drama is real.

If you’ve ever been the problem and the vibe, this is your lane.

When I’m not writing, I’m curating a playlist for a character, people-watching like it’s a sport, or arguing with my editor about why that scene had to stay in. I believe in plot twists, poetic justice, and giving my characters just enough rope to hang themselves—or pull off a miracle.
